Pumpkin Body Scrub

It’s Day 8 of All Things Pumpkin. Yesterday, we featured a savory Pumpkin Soup that was simply perfect for the blustery, cold day. 

Today, we are going to switch gears and make our own Pumpkin Body Scrub

I love a good sugar or salt scrub. Not only does it make my skin feel great, the scent it leaves behind is delicious.

What makes this scrub so special is my secret ingredient: fresh coffee grounds. 

It takes minutes to make and is so much better than that store bought “stuff.”

Pumpkin Sugar Body Scrub

  1. 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  2. 1/4 cup brown sugar
  3. 1/4 cup fresh coffee grounds
  4. 1-2 drops cinnamon essential oil
  5. 1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
  1. Mix the first three ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. Slowly add coconut oil.
  3. Stir.
  4. Add in essential oils (optional).
  1. This stays in the refrigerator for about a week. So I like to make small batches.

Give Yourself a Pumpkin Facial

Homemade Pumpkin Mask
A simple, yet effective at home spa treatment to keep your face shining bright.

  1. 1/2 cup pureed organic pumpkin
  2. 2 drops vanilla
  3. 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  4. 1 tablespoon raw honey
  1. Mix ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Apply a thin layer to face using a brush or fingers.
  3. Leave on for 10 minutes, relax & meditate enjoying the aroma.
  4. Wash off with face cloth.
  5. Enjoy beautiful soft skin!

Orange Spice Blend

I LOVE everything about Fall. 

The cool air, the leaves changing colors, the food, and all the delicious smells.

Pumpkin, orange, clove, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom. Oh, my!

Summer Siesta Blend

If you have children home with you during the summer, you know how crazy your days can get. Before you know it, it’s dinner time, and you skipped lunch again.

And if you work from home as I do, not only do you get interrupted 100 times per day but you rarely get any time to yourself. (I’m not kidding…I can’t even pee without my son or my dogs barging in.) 

And forget about relaxing vacations. They’re downright exhausting.

I’m not complaining. 

I have some wonderful summer memories, but even this momma needs a time out. 

And since a spa retreat isn’t in the cards, I improvise.


My Solution 

Twenty-minute chill outs. 

As soon as I tuck my son into bed, I gather the necessities: essential oils, diffuser, music, and wine.

I create my oil blend (see my latest below), turn on some music, pour myself a glass of vino and find a comfy place to relax. 

Summer Siesta Blend

I close my eyes, take a couple of deep breaths and imagine myself at the beach (my all time favorite place). There is nothing better than having sand between your toes, the sea salt air on your face and the warm sun shining on your soul. Heavenly!

These chill outs have become my sanity savers. 

Not only do I completely relax, but they refuel me for the next day.
